Doing stuff, but not of the silly kind
So what ‘ve we been up to the past couple of months? We’ll tell you: Learning, thinking, making, fixing, preparing, filming and photographing. (You so read this in a Daft Punky way) A lot of “behind the scenes” stuff basically. A big part was getting to know the Canon C100 camera we use for shooting now, thanks to our friends over at intuorental! We wanted to be very comfortable with the new cams, as our first couple of paid jobs came closer. And preparation is everything, ya hear.
So yeah, the silly movies we post on our facebook and the site-updates have moved a bit further down on Priority Lane. Don’t worry, the silly ideas still made their way to our super top secret “NINDO HAHAHA” document. The plan is to use the summer to shoot a bunch of those ideas and release them when things are calm on the front end, but busy on the back end. Speaking of which: If you, the reader of this blog, want to feature in one or more of our shorts, don’t hesitate and let us know! We like producing funny stuff, but shooting, directing and acting all at once is not that easy. So if you want to be a part of it, get in touch! Feel free to ask Benjamin how an evening on set was with us. He was the star of our Valentine Special!
Doing it for the kids
The first job we gladly accepted is a cool project to promote courses for teenagers who want to spend their summer entertaining kids. The Vlaamse Dienst Speelpleinwerk is an organisation of mostly volunteers that organizes these courses and they want us to produce a film that gives a good impression of how these courses go about. We can’t go into great detail, as it’s not finished yet, But we can show you a couple of “on the job” shots:
We’re right in the middle of post-production and it’s looking great. This was a very fun shoot, which makes us glad to get opportunities like this! The finished product will come out around the first of July.
Doing it for the band
The second project is for a folk band named Roots. With no less than seven members, they know how to bring life to a stage. We were asked to capture some of that life and we are two fun concerts down, one or two more to go! This is the first time we are shooting a band, so we prepared accordingly. But both of the times went pretty great. It takes some thinking up front and improvisation on the spot, but if it wasn’t challenging, everybody would be able to do it and we would be out of a job. So bring it on!
Doing it for the startup
The third thingy we’re working on, is a promotional film for our Intuo-friends. They are a fresh and promising startup, currently doing very well in the Telenet Idealabs project. Business-wise they are doing really clever stuff and are taking performance to whole other level. Our task is to create a promotional film that explains what they are up to in a very clear way. The shoot is set for the beginning of June, so a busy couple of weeks ahead. But we wouldn’t like it any other way!
That’s about it for now! We’ll promise to keep updates coming as we’ve figured out a gameplan now. Follow us on our facebook-page, if you have one of those accounts. It’s part of this social media thing that is getting alot of buzz lately, so it might be worth checking it out.
